More About The Artist:
Rockport painter Ken Gore came from Elvira, Illinois. He studied in Detroit under George Rich at the Meinzinger Art School in Detroit and in that city he joined the Scarab Club. Once in the Cape Ann milieu, Gore took lessons from Aldro T. Hibbard, one of the leading plein air painters. He joined the American Artists' Professional League, the Guild of Boston Artists, the Rockport Art Association and the North Shore Arts Association, where he was president between 1953 and 1955. His painting New England Summer was illustrated in the North Shore Arts Association's Masterworks: A 75th Anniversary Survey of Early and Founding Members (1997). Gore was mainly known for snow-landscapes and marine paintings. Gore specialized in the palette knife technique. He owned his own gallery and gave lectures.
The oil paintings are in great condition. Frames show surface wear, but look good overall. There are several small holes drilled on the frame backs. Please see all photos for a closer look. Thanks for viewing this listing!
