The Coordinator, with help from assistants, will:
*contact new potential sources for foster homes, keep lists with contact dates and information in excel worksheets for easy retrieval
*together or separately contact one (or more) new foster home sources weekly (such as groups like PTAs, cooking classes, churches, book clubs, museum enthusiasts, other volunteer groups, etc)
*help create 'Foster Homes Wanted' flyers by researching other rescues/shelters and their foster care programs, tailoring a foster care packet to deliver to each specific audience
*casual contact weekly with all active foster homes (by email or phone, whatever you prefer) to get updates on all animals in foster program, determining if animals needs have changed or require a different foster situation *as well as make sure all vet appointments are made in a timely manner of animal being admitted to the program
*encourage bonding with foster animals, cleanliness (ears, coat, etc) to improve health and appearance at adoptions
*keep foster homes informed of weekend adoption events and make sure foster homes bring animals to events regularly.
Organization is key! Volunteers should be computer savvy and detail-oriented. Creativity is also highly encouraged. Duties can be shared between one or more volunteers - this can be accomplished during the day, evenings or weekends. We want you to take this position and make it your own!
