Last day for second cutting of this year. Up to 200 available. You can pick any amount you need.
We have orders for about 500 bales so far and still have about 200 or more to make. If we aren't able to fill your order this cutting, you'll get priority for the next cutting.
We will be baling today (8/7), tomorrow (8/8) and the day after (8/9).
Easy to get to - off Hwy 102 and Hwy 12. 1/4th mile west of the intersection of Coffelt Cemetery Road and Byers Road in Benton County - edge of Bentonville/Centerton and Decatur. Please feel free to stop by and take a look at the hay before it is baled.
One field has about 50% Bermuda grass. Second field has about 25% Bermuda grass. The third field has about 10% Bermuda. The rest is Johnson grass harvested just right, as it was starting to bloom. We have owned the third hay field for 20 years and has not had any herbicide/pesticide since then. We have managed the other two fields for the past 5 years without herbicides/pesticides. We have managed the weeds in the fields by mechanical control (read brush hogging and pulling by hand). There are little to no weeds. We will round bale the outside windrows to further reduce the amount of weeds in the hay.
These bales are being baled with an older baler (New Holland 273) and try to make bales between 40 and 50 pounds which is generally the capacity of these balers. We might have some 60/70 pound bales when we get our newer/bigger baler (John Deere 348) going for the third cutting (weather permitting and man/machine cooperating).
Please call/text with the number of bales and a pick up time that best suits you. Text from local numbers only. Phone number in the last picture.
In case you haven't purchased hay from us, this is first come first serve. We anticipate baling beginning about 2 PM each day. As we make bales, the first person in the queue will get a text when their requested number of bales is ready, then we go to the next person and so on.
Once the hay is stored in the barn, the price becomes $7.50, so this is your best chance for a great bargain.
We are shorthanded this week, so won't be able to help with loading hay and more importantly, we may just round bale what doesn't get picked up in the field and may not have any in the barn at all.
While we'll make our best effort to make available to you hay for purchase, all sales are contingent upon weather and equipment cooperating. This offer does NOT create a contract to purchase from us the specified amount at the specified price.
Thank you and looking forward to helping with your hay needs.
