STI Metal Fab is a growing Fabrication Shop that designs, fabricates, and erects structural building components. We assist with commercial and industrial projects, and are looking to add qualified individuals to our team.
We are seeking a reliable and experienced SkyTrak Operator / Yard Hand to support daily steel fabrication and shipping operations. This position is responsible for safely loading and unloading steel deliveries, moving material through production areas, and maintaining an organized and efficient steel yard. The ideal candidate has prior experience operating SkyTrak or similar heavy equipment and understands steel handling and job-site safety.
Responsibilities
Load and Unload Trucks.
Move raw materials, fabricated steel, and finished products between yard, and production areas.
Organize steel inventory by size, type, and job to support efficient fabrication and shipping.
Stage material for fabrication crews and outgoing deliveries.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe steel yard, including proper stacking and storage.
Perform equipment inspections, report maintenance issues, and follow all company safety policies, and OSHA requirements.
Other duties as assigned by shop foreman or Shipping Manager.
Requirements
Ability to identify and differentiate common steel materials (beams, columns, angles, etc.)
Prior experience operating a SkyTrak or similar equipment.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed.
Please note pay is based off experience, and will be discussed during the interview process.
