I already have a job so I’m not necessarily desperate. I have been working for the same company for over 4 years now and have worked every position we have. I would be quite happy about this job I have, but I would really like something completely new that might be more along the lines of my bachelor degrees.
I have a bachelor degree in business administration and one in legal studies. With 237 college credit hours, I have an overall GPA of 3.9. This does not mean that I know everything, but it does mean that I am a good learner. I really am easy to get along with and I am very patient with others.
I am a non-smoker so I don't have to take frequent breaks.
I do not have job experience in the fields of my college degrees. Instead, my job experience includes (but is not limited to) the areas of customer service, sales, sheet metal worker, duct installer, warehouse management, shipping/receiving, data entry operator (which I enjoy), sewing machine operator, mig welder, and power generator mechanic.
Other undocumented skills include: computer building, installing operating systems, installing programs, building basic furniture, roofing, electronics, I can read blueprints and wiring schematics, I can solve assembly line problems and enjoy working on assembly lines.
It sounds like I can get a job really easy, right? I am nearly unhireable because I am a registered sex offender for a crime that was committed about 30 years ago. Rather than see this as a very positive attribute, most employers simply don’t bother to look any further. It is actually a very positive attribute because, since it is so difficult for me to find a job, you can rely on me to be at work on time, to always do more than expected, and to stay with you for a very long time. You are also getting a well-educated employee at a very low cost.
I am hoping to finally work indoors. I won’t just quit my job for a temporary job that MIGHT lead to permanent, or for a contract job that will probably end in a year. To cover all my bills at home, I need to be paid at least $12 per hour. Thank you very much for reading.
