This is an eMachines ETOWER 800 with a 115661 COGNAC 20000731 motherboard. It originally came with Windows Millennium and only 128 mb of RAM.
I have upgraded it to Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) with 384 mb of RAM (1 x 128 and 1 x 256). I tried 2 x 256 and it wouldn’t boot.
It has only a 6.4 GB hard drive and only an 800 (797) MHz processor.
Old piece of junk? Nah! Still very useable! Here’s why:
I’m throwing in a great little 15” HP flat screen monitor (which has a slight defect in the screen – 15” is measured diagonally from one corner of the actual screen to the opposite corner.) The monitor has integrated speakers to save space on your desk. With this computer, you get a really nice Microsoft keyboard and an HP laser mouse.
It has a great DVD player that allows you to watch your movies and listen to your CD’s.
It has a USB port in the front of it so that you can charge your phone or transfer files.
Windows has discontinued updating XP and no antivirus software is available to protect a computer with XP. So, you can keep your family completely safe from internet problems by never connecting it to the internet.
It has the complete Office Suite. So, the kids can use it for their homework and the adults can use it for office work.
The startup time, as you can see from Glary Utilities, is way less than a minute!
This was an old machine that someone had stored in a garage for several years. I cleaned everything up, inside and out. The side panel was missing, so as you can see in the pics, I cut a board to go over the side of it.
Considering everything that this computer can be used for, it is well worth what I am asking for it. If interested, please just contact me here through email. Thanks.
