Singer Class 7 (7-31) Sewing Machine on industrial table. #G1072498 Made 1911, repaired and reconditioned last in 2023. YES IT SEWS! YES ITS HUGE! Presser foot rise 5/8” , needle to column 16”, uses type 7x1 (fabric, paper), or 7x2 (leather) needles. See photos for details. (It could use a paint job, but it would sew the same.)
It’s securely mounted on an industrial grade table with metal casters and it weighs about 300 lbs. The table dimensions are 50”x22”x30.5”, and the machine height above that is 15”.
The original motor, mounted behind the column, drives the handwheel with a flat belt, and the foot pedal activates the clutch or brake to control machine speed.
Stitch length is adjustable, currently set at 4/inch. 1/2” of leather, with fabric needle, sews like butter. One photo compares it to a current Singer “heavy duty” machine.
The thread cone is TEX135 and takes a size 22 needle. With the right needle, this thing will sew string, though!
Needles, bobbins, and many other parts are readily available on eBay. Just search “Singer Class 7”.
It has no bobbin winder, but you can easily wind bobbins with a drill motor.
