Our company is looking to hire 1-2 individuals to work as substitute or on-call drivers for our local mail routes based out of Fayetteville, AR. All routes are short-haul, out and back.
Early Morning and Afternoon hours available. We currently have trucks running in the 1:00AM - 8:00AM time frame, as well as 12:00PM - 5:00PM. More times and hours are possible as we enter the peak holiday season. We currently have all regular positions filled, but this is a great way to get your foot in the door for a great career should a regular spot open up! You would become familiar with several of our bulk mail routes and fill in for drivers when they take vacation or sick days, or otherwise. The mail's gotta go everyday!
This job works great for semi-retirees, work-from-homers, or just as a side hustle to earn some extra money!
Duties:
- Operate a variety of trucks (either tractor + trailer or 24ft box truck)
- Safely load and unload materials and equipment. May involve rolling containers or palletized mail.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules for timely delivery of the US Mail
- Ensure proper securing and strapping of loads to prevent damage during transit
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on trucks to ensure they are in good working condition
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the truck
- Maintain accurate work time records (timesheets)
Requirements:
-Clean federal background check
-Clean driving record
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
- Current DOT medical certification
- Knowledge of safe loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage to materials and equipment
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions accurately
- Ability to work independently and meet delivery deadlines

Pay: $26.77 per hour plus 401K
